{"id":117002,"date":"2026-07-23T21:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T21:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/117002\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T21:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T21:00:13","slug":"trulioo-debuts-ai-agent-to-determine-beneficial-ownership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/117002\/","title":{"rendered":"Trulioo Debuts AI Agent to Determine Beneficial Ownership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ID verification firm\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trulioo.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trulioo<\/a>\u00a0has debuted an AI agent to resolve beneficial ownership questions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company\u2019s UBO Discovery Agent,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20260723497831\/en\/Trulioo-Launches-AI-Agent-to-Resolve-Beneficial-Ownership-Where-Global-Registries-Fall-Short\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>\u00a0Thursday (July 23), is part of Trulioo\u2019s larger UBO Discovery capability, which is itself housed with its business risk and know your business (KYB) verification workflow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAI is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/authentication\/digital-identity\/2026\/what-happens-when-the-customer-you-rejected-was-real\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reshaping fraud<\/a>, making it easier for bad actors to hide, and harder for companies to catch them,\u201d the company said in a news release. \u201cThis makes the already tough job of verifying who actually owns a business even more difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Figuring out a business\u2019s ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) is a continual challenge, the release added, as registry coverage is consistent or in complete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUntil now, compliance teams attempted to rely on either a slow, manual mix of analysts and research portals, or unverified customer self-certifications,\u201d Trulioo said. \u201cUltimately, both approaches are highly inefficient and fail to ensure regulatory compliance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company says its new agent provides a better alternative, extending Trulioo\u2019s UBO discovery capability and automating business ownership discovery with governed AI to intelligently reconstruct ownership and close gaps left by registries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRegistries capture who owns a company on paper. At the same time, internal teams say onboarding abandonment tied to verification obstacles has jumped above 60%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The collateral damage is mounting. With AI escalating both\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/tag\/identity-fraud\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">identity fraud<\/a>\u00a0and defenses at the same time, companies are inadvertently closing real users out of accounts and marking them as suspicious, leaving customers stuck in the type of endless verification loops that cause them to abandon onboarding altogether.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSystems designed to build trust are increasingly optimized to distrust everyone.
