<a href=\"https:\/\/tech.yahoo.com\/ai\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Artificial intelligence;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;Artificial intelligence&quot;}\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Artificial intelligence<\/a> firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/organizations\/openai\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:OpenAI;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;OpenAI&quot;}\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OpenAI<\/a> is set to commit up to $1.5 billion to a new joint \u200cventure with private equity firms, Financial Times reported on \u200cWednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The ChatGPT maker will initially invest $500 million \u200bof equity into the joint venture, known internally as DeployCo, which is expected to be valued at $10 billion in a funding round set to close in early May, the report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">DeployCo, a \u200cDelaware-listed LLC, is reportedly \u2060designed to speed up the adoption of OpenAI&#8217;s workplace tools and is a central part of \u2060the company\u2019s push into the enterprise market, according to FT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">OpenAI will have super-voting shares in DeployCo, FT added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">DeployCo&#8217;s private equity backers \u200bwill invest \u200bfor five years, with OpenAI \u200bguaranteeing them an annual return \u200cof 17.5%, the report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">OpenAI also has the option to add a further $1 billion at a later date, FT said, with investors including TPG, Bain Capital, Advent International, Brookfield and Goanna Capital investing another $4 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Reuters could not immediately verify the report. \u200cOpenAI, TPG, Bain, Advent, Brookfield and \u200bGoanna did not immediately respond to \u200ba Reuters request for \u200bcomment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Reuters reported in March that both OpenAI and \u200crival Anthropic have been aggressively courting \u200bPE firms, which \u200bcontrol many enterprise companies and sway corporate spending on software and AI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">OpenAI has recently doubled down on enterprise AI, \u200ba market where \u200cAnthropic is widely seen as having stronger traction, with \u200bbroader adoption among corporate clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">(Reporting by Ananya Palyekar in \u200bBengaluru;
