Google took the covers off of a bunch of new Nest devices<\/a>, the search giant also revealed a partnership with Walmart that will see Gemini for Home hitting the budget-friendly Onn range.<\/p>\nThat announcement saw an indoor camera launch alongside a video doorbell, and now Google Home users looking for a low-cost way to add outdoor security have two new options.<\/p>\n
The new 2026 additions are the Onn Outdoor Camera Plug-In, priced at $34.87, and the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired, which costs $77. <\/p>\n
Both are designed to integrate natively with the Google Home app as part of Google’s “Gemini built-in” device program, offering a much cheaper alternative to Google’s own Nest cameras.<\/p>\n
The Outdoor Camera Plug-In features a compact design with an adjustable mounting arm, making it suitable for placing under eaves, on walls or around entryways. <\/p>\n
It captures 1080p HDR video, offers full-color night vision and includes two-way audio, allowing you to speak with visitors through the Google Home app.<\/p>\n
The camera is rated IP65 for protection against dust and rain and uses a weather-resistant USB-C power connection. <\/p>\n
Its design is reminiscent of some of Wyze’s outdoor cameras, with a permanently attached cable connecting to an extension lead while maintaining its outdoor sealing.<\/p>\n
Those wanting extra illumination can step up to the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired. <\/p>\n
Alongside the same 1080p HDR video, color night vision, IP65 weather resistance and two-way talk, it packs a 2,500-lumen floodlight that can brighten driveways, gardens and other outdoor spaces after dark.<\/p>\n
Both cameras are set up directly through the Google Home app, with live viewing available immediately after installation. However, many of the smarter features remain tied to Google’s subscription service.<\/p>\n
A Google Home Premium subscription unlocks cloud event history, continuous recording storage, AI-generated event descriptions powered by Gemini, searchable video history, daily summaries and Google’s latest camera automation features. <\/p>\n
Without a subscription, you are limited to live viewing and a rolling three-hour snapshot history, with captured images automatically deleted once that window expires.<\/p>\n
Google Home Premium starts at $10 per month and is also included with the Google One AI Pro plan, which bundles additional cloud storage, enhanced Gemini features and other Google services.<\/p>\n
With Nest cameras continuing to command significantly higher prices, Walmart’s latest Onn models offer one of the cheapest entry points into the Google Home ecosystem for anyone who doesn’t mind relying on cloud services for most of the advanced functionality. <\/p>\n
