Daniel Jensen, a THC distributor who is involved in a breach-of-contract dispute<\/a> with a THC product retailer owned by Ian Aros-Ponton, has been more successful than other plaintiffs who have used AI, according to a story by Law.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The publication cited recent research from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, that shows that 61% of federal complaints filed with AI were dismissed, compared to 54% without AI.<\/p>\n

While Jensen made it to trial, Georgia State-wide Business Court Judge William Grady Hamrick in September found \u201c13 inaccurate or misleading citations\u201d in his briefs and ordered the parties to disclose any future use of AI, Law.com reports. Jensen\u2019s filings have since been accompanied by forms that cite his use of Anthropic\u2019s Claude and OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT.<\/p>\n

Law.com reports that using AI to navigate a trial could prove difficult, as Jensen ran into a few obstacles during the Monday proceedings. According to the publication, he asked questions about how to show evidence during witness testimony and had trouble organizing copies of exhibits for the opposing counsel and the judge.<\/p>\n

Jensen sued Aros-Ponton in June 2024, alleging that the pair verbally agreed to form a 50\/50 partnership, where Jensen would supply new venture Total Hemp & CBD with inventory from his distribution company and Aros-Ponton would handle the daily operations of the store. Jensen also alleges that contrary to their agreement, Aros-Ponton excluded him as a partner and began operating the business without his consent or involvement.<\/p>\n

According to Law.com, Ronald Debranski, an attorney for Aros-Ponton, told the jury Monday that \u201cour position is that there was never a contract.\u201d<\/p>\n
