Cyera<\/a> plans to acquire Oasis Security<\/a> to unify identity and data security and build a comprehensive security platform that determines what artificial intelligence agents can see and do, Cyera said in a Tuesday (July 28) blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Wall Street Journal reported<\/a> Tuesday that Cyera agreed to acquire Oasis Security for $1 billion and that the companies expect the deal to close later this year.<\/p>\n

The acquisition will combine Oasis Security\u2019s access management platform for agentic enterprises with Cyera\u2019s solutions that cover what data exists, how sensitive it is, who can reach it and who authorized that access, Cyera Co-Founder and CEO Yotam Segev<\/a> said in the post.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery identity\u2014human, machine or agent, is a point of exposure\u2014which is why every identity has to be tracked, understood and controlled,\u201d Segev said. \u201cSo, we\u2019re building a new model, one that unifies data and identity into a single system, so every agent is trusted with exactly the data it should reach. No blind spots, no fragmentation, one place to secure them all.\u201d<\/p>\n

In its own blog post<\/a> Tuesday about the acquisition, Oasis Security said the companies will work together to solve a new kind of risk that has been created by the rapid proliferation of AI agents. It\u2019s the potential of agents to make a wrong decision that exposes sensitive data or disrupts operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur joint vision goes beyond keeping an agent away from the wrong data,\u201d Oasis Security Co-Founder and CEO Danny Brickman<\/a> said in the post. \u201cWe want enterprises to automate their most critical work without letting a single wrong decision interrupt the business. Joining Cyera is the most ambitious way to pursue the mission we started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyera announced in June that it was valued at $12 billion in a funding round<\/a> in which it raised $600 million. Six months earlier, in January, the company was valued at $9 billion in a funding round<\/a> in which it raised $400 million.<\/p>\n
