{"id":126479,"date":"2026-08-01T03:18:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T03:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/126479\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T03:18:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T03:18:14","slug":"ai-continues-to-change-the-video-game-industry-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/126479\/","title":{"rendered":"AI continues to change the video game industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES \u2014 Like many others, the video game industry is undergoing changes with the rise of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>A study by Google Cloud and The Harris Poll finds that 90% of game developers have integrated generative AI into their workflows.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Luis Martinez is a 21-year-old student in UCLA\u2019s Design Media Arts program. He\u2019s the first in his family to graduate high school and go to college. Martinez said he always had an affinity for the arts and wanted to pursue something in the field when he first registered for classes at Los Angeles Community College.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know what I wanted to study,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cTaking the classes here, I was able to just get the base start of what game development would be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Martinez has embraced using AI to help him with game design. He\u2019s also working as a junior game designer with Studio 5th Corner, and said technology has helped him expand his skill-set and become more efficient.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore, making the settings menu would\u2019ve taken me forever to figure out,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cNow, I was able to do this in less than a day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The industry has seen some cutbacks in recent weeks. Microsoft\u2019s Xbox division cut 3,200 jobs in early July, as the company says it\u2019s focusing more investments into AI.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are being affected,\u201d said Matt Radford, the founder of 5th Corner and professor at LACC. \u201cI\u2019ve seen graphic designers, I\u2019ve seen illustrators be really affected. I think this is going to happen. New opportunities are arising. I\u2019ve seen it. Look at the job boards, search AI jobs, machine learning jobs, they\u2019re there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>California is a hub for video game studios.
