U.S. SENATE News:<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2014 Today, U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-N.M.), Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee\u2019s Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Media, helped lead a subcommittee hearing titled \u201cIntelligent Networks: Powering Artificial Intelligence and Transforming Communications.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) evolves, it is increasingly taking on a larger role in the buildout and management of our communications networks. During the hearing, Senator Luj\u00e1n examined AI\u2019s role in the deployment of broadband infrastructure across the country, specifically with the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. Additionally, Senator Luj\u00e1n discussed the potential and oversight needed of AI to improve network resiliency, change how we defend against cyber attacks, and optimize traffic across the networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAI is transforming the way our networks are built, managed, and secured\u2014reshaping the digital economy, strengthening our global competitiveness, and driving the development of advanced communications networks,\u201d Sen. Luj\u00e1n said. \u201cAs we expand broadband access across the country, we must ensure today\u2019s investments are built to support tomorrow\u2019s technologies and that rural and underserved communities are not left behind in the innovation economy. I\u2019m grateful to the expert panelists who joined us today for this important conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n
