SAN FRANCISCO, California\u00a0\u2014 SpaceX on Tuesday announced a partnership with\u00a0artificial intelligence (AI) coding company Cursor and said the alliance comes with an option to buy the startup for $60 billion later this year.<\/p>\n
The move by Elon Musk\u2019s rocket and satellite company comes as it prepares to become publicly traded, and\u00a0shortly after it took over the billionaire\u2019s artificial intelligence outfit xAI.<\/p>\n
Cursor, founded in 2022 and based in San Francisco, specializes in\u00a0AI\u00a0for creating software code, particularly for business uses.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpaceXAI and @cursor_ai are now working closely together to create the world\u2019s best coding and knowledge work\u00a0AI,\u201d the company said in a post on X.<\/p>\n
Combining Cursor\u2019s software and product expertise with SpaceX\u2019s \u201cColossus\u201d\u00a0AI\u00a0training supercomputer will enable the company \u201cto build the world\u2019s most useful models,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
