Due to the model\u2019s elevated capability to identify digital vulnerabilities, access to Mythos is limited to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securitymagazine.com\/articles\/102243-us-security-agency-leverages-claude-mythos-despite-pentagon-blacklist\" id=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">select group of partners<\/a> in an initiative known as Project Glasswing, and so the potential breach reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-04-21\/anthropic-s-mythos-model-is-being-accessed-by-unauthorized-users?srnd=homepage-americas\" id=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bloomberg News<\/a> concerns some security experts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnauthorized users were able to access Anthropic\u2019s Mythos model, reportedly by just changing a model name,\u201d says Shane Fry, Chief Technology Officer at RunSafe Security. \u201cEven if their intent is just to explore, it shows how easily these systems can be exposed.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, users in a\u00a0private online forum accessed Mythos the same day the company announced a limited release of the model.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anthropic confirmed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/anthropic-investigates-mythos-ai-breach\/\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">CBS News<\/a> that an investigation into them matter is underway. The investigation is looking into the possibility that the access originated from one of its\u00a0third-party vendor environments, which the company collaborates with to develop its models. Currently, no breaches outside of the vendor environment have been identified.
