Zachary Boyd, director of the Utah Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy, said in a recent interview that he\u2019s trying to \u201clay the foundations for AI governance.\u201d His office doesn\u2019t regulate or enforce AI policy, but acts as \u201ca developer of legal frameworks\u201d and \u201cmanager of pilot\u201d projects in the private sector. Boyd said he thinks successful AI policy will come from including many different types of stakeholders and focusing on \u201cwhat went wrong, not who did wrong.\u201d \u201cOur philosophy is that no one is going to have the whole answer,\u201d he said, \u201cand we have to be bold and put out some attempts first, but then also be listening really carefully to understand the consequences of our decisions and make modifications rapidly.\u201d<\/p>\n
