Rather than wait until its Pixel launch event next week on Aug. 12, Google\u2014as in past years\u2014has started posting video teasers for its new Pixel 11 series phones early. The company has shared two videos so far\u2014one for the Pixel 11 Pro<\/a> and one for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the teaser for its next bar-style flagship Android phone, Google says \u201cYou use Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Gemini\u2026 \u2026all on your phone\u2026 seems like the next move is\u2026 yeah,\u201d before cutting to the Pixel\u2019s signature camera bar.<\/p>\n

We can see three lenses in the bar, but what\u2019s that rainbow-colored hole? It doesn\u2019t look like a regular LED flash or the temperature sensor on the Pixel 10 Pro series<\/a>. Sleuths have uncovered that the feature may be Gemini-related. According to 9to5Google<\/a>, the feature could be called \u201cHiLight,\u201d and phrasing in the Android 17 Beta 4 hints at using \u201csubtle light and color on the back of your device to inform you of important activity when it\u2019s face down.\u201d It sounds like the return of the notification LED indicators that were popular on early Android phones over a decade ago.<\/p>\n

Recently unretired leaker Evan Blass shared alleged images<\/a> of the Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL. Aside from new colors, a faster Tensor G6 chip, and the aforementioned HiLight indicator, those leaks suggest the Pixel 11 Pro line should look largely the same as the Pixel 10 Pro series. Don\u2019t expect another sweeping redesign.<\/p>\n

As for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Google hasn\u2019t shared much. \u201cTo switch phones, you have to be open to what\u2019s new. And to what opens,\u201d announces the narrator of the teaser video. Not to worry, though: Blass has also spoiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold<\/a> with what appear to be high-resolution press images. Google\u2019s fourth-generation book-style foldable looks pretty similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold<\/a>, with the same purported HiLight indicator and raised camera lenses that suggest improved image quality.<\/p>\n

Google will likely tease the rumored Pixel Watch 5<\/a> and\u00a0the \u201cPixel Tag<\/a>\u201d item tracker next, which will compete with Apple\u2019s\u00a0AirTag<\/a>. Both have also leaked extensively<\/a>.<\/p>\n
