Aug 5 (Reuters) – Meta Platforms on Wednesday launched Muse Code, a coding tool powered by \u200cits latest AI model, Muse Spark 1.2, designed \u200cto help developers write and debug software. <\/p>\n
The launch highlights the \u200bsocial media giant’s push into AI-powered coding tools, where it competes with Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s Codex amid a broader race to monetize AI assistants. <\/p>\n
Muse Code can \u200cwrite code and \u2060verify results, and has been trained to handle long, complex coding projects while also \u2060running multiple sub-agents simultaneously to speed up difficult tasks, the company said. <\/p>\n
Meta also said it trained Muse \u200bSpark 1.2 \u200band Muse Code together \u200bto operate smoothly as \u200ca pair. <\/p>\n
Launched in beta, Muse Code keeps a log of its actions, so it can pick up where it left off after a crash rather than start over, the company said. <\/p>\n
Developers can access Muse Code \u200cthrough a pay-as-you-go plan, with \u200bthe standard tier priced at $1.25 \u200bper million input \u200btokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. <\/p>\n
The launch \u200ccomes nearly a month after \u200bMeta introduced \u200bMuse Spark 1.1 for developer testing, with the earlier model used to generate and evaluate difficult \u200bcoding challenges \u200cthat helped improve Muse Spark 1.2’s ability to \u200bfollow complex instructions. <\/p>\n
