However, it is not the only technology giant looking to make India a key AI infrastructure hub. Rivals Alphabet and Amazon are also investing heavily in expanding their data centre capacity in the country, attracted by India&#8217;s vast potential base of AI users and growing demand for cloud services.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft&#8217;s new India South Central cloud region in Hyderabad expands its footprint to four cloud regions across India\u2014Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai\u2014giving it the country&#8217;s largest hyperscale cloud presence. The company also operates two Jio-partnered data centres and has committed $20.5 billion towards India&#8217;s AI and digital infrastructure through investments announced in 2025. The company also highlighted renewed momentum among leading Indian IT firms, including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and LTIMindtree, which have collectively signed up for more than 400,000 Microsoft Copilot seats.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft added that AI adoption is now moving from the pilot stage to production across both the technology and industrial sectors.
