Every co work session needs storage and compute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By the end of 2029, the company will invest the $25 billion in new digital infrastructure, alongside new commitments to national cyber defence capability and workforce skilling programs.<\/p>\n<p>Nadella explained where he sees the future of AI and cloud going.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things that we are going to see is the explosion of both cloud and AI accelerators, and that&#8217;s one of the things that we are very excited about making sure we continue to invest and bring all of that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>            <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\".\/media_1eeb237fb1d1931b5466d019f9cb95e1fb3883d25.jpg?width=750&amp;format=jpg&amp;optimize=medium\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Image:<\/p>\n<p>[L-R] Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft, and Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia<\/p>\n<p>        Upskilling millions of Aussies<\/p>\n<p>As part of its investment, the tech giant has pledged to train at least three million Australians with \u201cworkforce-ready AI skills\u201d by 2028.<\/p>\n<p>The company claims this is the largest commitment of its kind ever made in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The commitment builds on Microsoft\u2019s previous goal to skill one million people across Australia and New Zealand by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Nadella said, \u201cWe&#8217;re really thrilled to double down on the skilling investments we&#8217;re making.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s going to be a real change in the way we work, the tools we use to work. To be able to get ahead of all of the jobs and the economic opportunity that gets created,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s going to be very, very important for all of us, including Microsoft, to do the work, to bring the skilling and the upskilling that is required.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This announcement follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com.au\/news\/2026\/ai\/microsoft-australia-actu-framework-agreement\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft\u2019s landmark AI framework agreement<\/a> with the ACTU earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>        Signals Directorate and Cyber Shield<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is also continuing its investment in its Microsoft\u2013Australian Signals Directorate Cyber Shield (MACS) partnership<\/p>\n<p>This investment sees an expansion of its collaboration with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), Home Affairs and the Digital Transformation Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u2019s investment in MACS will be extended to cover additional federal agencies, delivering security configuration and threat visibility across the government&#8217;s existing Microsoft technology investment.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the expanded partnership, Nadella said, \u201cWe are also thrilled to expand our partnership with the Signals Directorate and Cyber Shield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the challenges we all collectively face is, how do we protect ourselves?
