{"id":134448,"date":"2026-08-09T23:39:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/134448\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T23:39:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:39:09","slug":"south-australian-premier-inks-deal-with-openai-on-us-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/134448\/","title":{"rendered":"South Australian premier inks deal with OpenAI on US trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The premier who led Australia\u2019s world-first social media ban has signed a landmark artificial intelligence agreement as he courts big tech.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While touring the US, South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas visited OpenAI\u2019s headquarters in San Francisco where he signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its co-founder and president Greg Brockman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OpenAI is the developer of ChatGPT, the world\u2019s most popular generative AI chatbot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is believed to be the first time an Australian state or territory government has inked an MoU with a major AI company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement will provide opportunities to develop AI skills, accelerate local research and innovation, attract global investment and spread the benefits of AI across South Australia, Malinauskas said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe want to lead with ambition and care,\u201d he said in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\tGet the best of Startup Daily straight to your inbox<\/p>\n<p>\n                            Want to know the latest in startup news?
