Other recent departures include Bill Peebles, former head of the discontinued video generator Sora, and Kevin Weil, former vice president of the company\u2019s Science division.<\/p>\n
In addition to this announcement, OpenAI has launched a dedicated ChatGPT desktop application for Linux this week, following requests from open-source developers. The preview release extends ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex to Linux users, supporting Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, and Fedora 43 and 44, with compatibility expected across related downstream distributions. The launch completes ChatGPT\u2019s availability across all major desktop operating systems.
