AP-Yonhap

SpaceX, which had struggled with a falling share price after the largest initial public offering (IPO) on record, is staging a turnaround on the strength of improving artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and Korean exchange-traded funds (ETFs) holding the company have swung back to gains. Industry watchers expect that as SpaceX’s massive AI and cloud investments draw attention, the warmth will spread to related sectors, including semiconductors.

According to ETF CHECK, from the 5th to the 13th of this month, Korean-listed U.S. aerospace ETFs holding SpaceX posted double-digit returns. TIGER U.S. Space Tech rose 16.73%, ACE U.S. Space Tech Active climbed 17.01%, and KODEX U.S. Aerospace gained 15.37%. These products hold SpaceX at weightings of roughly 22% to 27%.

The uniform rise in these Korean-listed U.S. aerospace ETFs stemmed from a rebound in SpaceX’s share price. Analysts attribute the strength in the related ETFs to SpaceX’s recovery, which led a broader advance across the aerospace sector. On the New York exchange on the 12th local time, SpaceX closed at $146.15, up 9.65% from the previous session. That marks a 35% rebound in about a week from the $108.27 low reached on the 5th, the date of its first earnings report. Even as lockup shares were released around the earnings report and supply flowed into the market, the stock rose past its $135 offering price and is now closing in on the $150 opening price recorded on its first trading day.

The catalyst for SpaceX’s share-price gain was the launch of the AI agent Grok Bot. Grok Bot lets multiple AI agents divide tasks and hand work back and forth, enabling AI to perform “autonomous work.” That has raised expectations for a strengthening of SpaceX’s AI model capabilities, which had been viewed as relatively behind. The previous day, Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk expressed confidence on his social media platform X that “Grok 4.7,” to be unveiled within three to four weeks, would surpass every AI model currently in existence.

Growing expectations for SpaceX’s business model also worked in its favor. The model combines its core aerospace and satellite communications businesses with the neocloud and AI models it absorbed through a merger with xAI. Wall Street has so far assessed that SpaceX has been valued only as an aerospace and satellite communications company. Analysts suggest that once its cloud capabilities—secured through massive AI infrastructure investment—and the resulting AI model competitiveness are added, the company could be rerated as a cloud operator and an AI model developer and service provider.

In response, Morgan Stanley on the same day issued an “overweight” rating on SpaceX with a $300 price target. It also projected that in a bull scenario the stock could reach as high as $600. Morgan Stanley said SpaceX is valued below comparable neocloud peers such as CoreWeave, adding that the completed acquisition of Cursor, a developer of AI coding tools, and the release of Grok 5 within the year would serve as catalysts to close the valuation gap.

Industry watchers say SpaceX’s enormous AI capital spending could work as a boon for Korea’s memory chip industry. According to Morgan Stanley, combined capital expenditure by the four Big Tech firms—Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Meta—together with SpaceX is expected to surge from $786 billion in 2026 to $1.277 trillion in 2028. Excluding SpaceX, the four Big Tech firms’ projected capital spending for next year is $994 billion, revised up 88% over seven months, while SpaceX’s estimated capital spending for next year is $159 billion, closing in on Meta’s $196 billion. A securities industry official said the setup amounts to “a de facto fifth cloud emerging and joining the infrastructure race, further shoring up the floor of demand for semiconductors and related products.”

Starship lifts off on its seventh test flight from the private “Starbase” launch facility near Brownsville, Texas, on…

[10
68434,68436,6364,66380,68437,68435,658,2899
post-138556","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-xai","tag-aerospace-etf","tag-ai-cloud-investment","tag-grok","tag-grok-bot","tag-memory-semiconductors","tag-morgan-stanley-price-target","tag-spacex","tag-xai
["GET
