{"id":142860,"date":"2026-08-17T21:27:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T21:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/142860\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T21:27:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T21:27:12","slug":"anthropic-says-annualized-revenue-climbed-to-65-billion-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/142860\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthropic says annualized revenue climbed to $65 billion in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dario Amodei, co-founder and chief executive officer of Anthropic, during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026. <\/p>\n<p>Krisztian Bocsi | Bloomberg | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/ANTHR.FG\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthropic&#8217;s<\/a> annualized revenue run rate\u00a0hit $65 billion at the end of July, CNBC confirmed on Monday, a sevenfold increase from a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Claude creator, which has seen its enterprise popularity surge, shared the figure in an update to investors over the weekend, according to three sources familiar with the matter who asked not to be named because the details are confidential. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-08-17\/anthropic-revenue-run-rate-surpasses-65-billion-ahead-of-ipo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> was first to report the $65 billion figure. <\/p>\n<p>The update comes as Anthropic gears up for what&#8217;s expected to be a blockbuster IPO. The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/06\/01\/anthropic-ipo-s1-prospectus.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">confidentially filed<\/a> its prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June, and has been holding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/13\/anthropic-cfo-early-ipo-meetings-valuation.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">preliminary meetings<\/a> with potential investors, though it hasn&#8217;t officially provided a timeline for a debut.  <\/p>\n<p>Anthropic also shared a preliminary revenue figure of $11.5 billion for the second quarter, a 14-fold jump from a year ago, a sources said. The company declined to comment.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"InlineVideo-videoThumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/108350653-17870016241787001621-47828934211-1080pnbcnews.jpg\" alt=\"Anthropic's annual run rate surpasses $65 billion, according to sources\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In May, Anthropic said its run rate topped $47 billion, compared to the roughly $10 billion in revenue the company generated for all of 2025. At chief rival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/17\/openai-brockman-leadership-changes.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OpenAI<\/a>, the annualized revenue run rate recently hit $40 billion, as CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/08\/14\/openai-cfo-friar-tells-investors-that-enterprise-bigger-than-consumer.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n<p>Anthropic is looking to justify its $965 billion valuation and show continued momentum to investors, even in the face of notable disruptions to its business. In June, Anthropic had to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/06\/12\/anthropic-disables-access-to-fable-5-and-mythos-5-to-comply-with-government-directive.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">temporarily disable access<\/a> to two of its most advanced models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, in order to comply with an export control directive from the government that cited\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"chttps:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/amp\/2026\/06\/19\/trump-tells-axios-he-no-longer-views-anthropic-as-national-security-threat.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">national security authorities<\/a>.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/06\/30\/anthropic-says-trump-admin-has-lifted-export-controls-on-claude-fable-5-and-mythos-5.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">restored the models<\/a> after roughly two weeks of tense negotiations, but the resolution did little to ease concerns about Anthropic&#8217;s increasingly fraught relationship with the Trump administration.
