The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products-and-platforms\/products\/search\/personalize-search-discover-news\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new feature<\/a>, rolling out to the Google app in the \u201ccoming days,\u201d will use AI to automatically tweak your feed and \u201cremember\u201d your preferences for future visits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">You\u2019ll find the option within the three-dot menu on your Discover feed. As shown in a video shared by Google, tapping the feature will open a chatbot-style interface, where you\u2019ll be able to describe your preferences. The chatbot will confirm your choices and lay out the types of content it will prioritize, but you\u2019ll also have the option to add more information if it doesn\u2019t get it quite right. From there, you can hit \u201cRefresh your feed\u201d for the changes to take effect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">This might make it easier to control what you see in your Discover feed, which serves up recommended articles based on your activity across Google\u2019s search engine and apps. Aside from Google Discover, several social media apps have added ways to customize your feeds with AI, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/streaming\/938759\/youtube-custom-ai-feed-prompt-availability\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/947898\/meta-instagram-your-algorithm-main-feed-tell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/903190\/bluesky-attie-ai-custom-feeds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bluesky<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/917113\/x-ai-grok-timeline-curation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Google announced a couple of other changes as well, including the ability to personalize daily audio briefings in the Google News app on Android.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">There\u2019s also an update to Preferred Sources, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/757979\/google-search-preferred-sources-launch-top-stories\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a feature that lets you see more<\/a> of your favorite outlets across Search\u2019s \u201ctop stories\u201d section, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. With the change, publishers can place an interactive \u201cPreferred Sources\u201d button on their sites, which readers can select to quickly add it to their list without navigating away from the webpage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Google will soon allow you to customize your Discover feed by describing what you want to see.
