Aug 22 (Reuters) – Some of Nvidia’s largest customers have been told prices of servers \u200ccontaining its AI<\/a> chips will rise by \u200cmore than 15% in many cases with memory chip \u200bcosts soaring, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday. <\/p>\n

The price hikes will go into effect on systems shipped early next year and will impact systems including \u200cthose with the \u2060flagship Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips, the report added, citing people familiar \u2060with the process. The increases will depend on Nvidia’s chip generation and memory configurations, they \u200bsaid. <\/p>\n

Reuters couldn’t \u200bimmediately verify the report. \u200bNvidia did not \u200cimmediately respond to a request for comments outside regular business hours. <\/p>\n

Companies that build servers under contract for large data center operators such as Microsoft<\/a>, Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Oracle have recently informed \u200ctheir customers of the \u200bupcoming increases, the report added. <\/p>\n

Nvidia<\/a>, \u200bwhose chips underpin \u200bmuch of the AI infrastructure buildout, \u200cis set to report \u200bsecond-quarter results on \u200bAugust 26. <\/p>\n

The company has become a proxy for the broader AI ecosystem spanning chip \u200bmakers and \u200ccompanies financing the rapid expansion of data \u200bcenter capacity. <\/p>\n
