{"id":150493,"date":"2026-08-25T11:29:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T11:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/150493\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T11:29:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T11:29:09","slug":"metas-consumer-focused-ai-agent-could-be-weeks-from-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/150493\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta\u2019s Consumer-Focused AI Agent Could Be Weeks From Launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meta.com\/about\/?srsltid=AfmBOooE1MDFexAYffmHF5OYFPZyRrTGgF2Nz7Ln2eMWivG3rQQs2Icq\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meta<\/a> is reportedly ready to unveil its consumer-focused AI agent designed to rival OpenClaw.<\/p>\n<p>The tech giant\u2019s new offering, known in-house as \u201cHatch,\u201d could debut in the next several weeks, The Information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/meta-plans-launch-hatch-ai-agent-platform-coming-weeks?rc=nqem4s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> Monday (Aug. 24), citing internal Meta documents.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that, Meta is planning to roll out its latest artificial intelligence (AI) model, known as \u201cWatermelon,\u201d in October, said the report.<\/p>\n<p>The Information characterizes Hatch as part of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s effort to monetize the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cpi-posts\/meta-ramps-up-ai-spending-with-new-21-billion-cloud-agreement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">massive AI investments<\/a> and diversify its revenue sources beyond advertising.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, Meta has considered a tiered pricing system, including charging up to $199.99 per month for a premium subscription to Hatch that would offer higher usage limits.<\/p>\n<p>The report added that Hatch has been trained to access websites such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doordash.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOopj-RJsmI4Uxrb2LJrxRzfFbfLExQTedCFLTatLF2kX9DpMMbzl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DoorDash<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Etsy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reddit<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/philadelphia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yelp<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/outlook\/log-in\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Outlook<\/a>. Thanks!<\/p>\n<p>The company is also readying a platform on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whatsapp.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WhatsApp<\/a> that would let users integrate other AI agents and chat with them via the messaging service, with a rollout to a smaller group of users planned for as soon as this week, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Zuckerberg had said on an earnings call earlier this year that he saw an opportunity to build a version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/openclaw.ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OpenClaw<\/a> AI agent that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/meta\/2026\/meta-develops-easy-to-use-ai-agent-for-consumers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">more polished<\/a> and easier to use.<\/p>\n<p>As PYMNTS wrote in May, Meta and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google,<\/a> which is working on its own agent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence\/2026\/big-tech-personal-ai-agents-are-coming-to-do-list\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">have an edge<\/a> over that product.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>OpenClaw requires installation on a personal computer, while Hatch will run inside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>, used by more than 2 billion people each day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no setup. The assistant arrives inside something people already open,\u201d that report said, adding that this positioning is in line with consumer behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Upwards of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/more-than-60-of-consumers-now-start-daily-tasks-with-ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">60% of Americans<\/a> used a dedicated AI platform in the past year, according to PYMNTS Intelligence\u2019s report,\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/study_posts\/how-ai-becomes-the-place-consumers-start-everything\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cHow AI Becomes the Place Consumers Start Everything<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNeither Google nor Meta faces the cost problem that ended OpenClaw\u2019s cheap access. Both own the computing infrastructure that their assistants run on,\u201d the report added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Anthropic raised the price of running OpenClaw, millions of users were left without an affordable option.
