Created in collaboration with Spanish AI filmmaker Hilario Abad, Art Awakens will reimagine Edvard Munch\u2019s The Scream, Hokusai\u2019s The Great Wave, Vincent van Gogh\u2019s The Starry Night, Jan van Eyck\u2019s The Arnolfini Portrait, James McNeill Whistler\u2019s Whistler\u2019s Mother and Edward Hopper\u2019s Nighthawks.<\/p>\n
Further details on the series rollout and distribution will be announced in the coming months, Fremantle said.<\/p>\n
The development comes from Imaginae, which launched last year<\/a> spearheaded by Fremantle Europe boss Andrea Scrosati and is now run by James Duffen, the former Managing Director of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning at Aurelius Advisers.<\/p>\n \u201cArt Awakens is exactly why Imaginae exists,\u201d said Duffen. \u201cGenerative AI is a new creative language and when applied with taste, craft and cultural sensitivity, it allows us to tell stories that were previously impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n Scrosati said the series is a \u201cperfect demonstration\u201d of Imaginae\u2019s \u201cambition.\u201d<\/p>\n Best of Deadline<\/p>\n Sign up for Deadline’s Newsletter<\/a>.
