According to data from market intelligence firm <a href=\"https:\/\/sensortower.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sensor Tower<\/a>, ChatGPT experienced a 132 percent increase in uninstalls year over year in April. Its uninstall rate was even higher last month, up 413 percent year-over-year, following OpenAI\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/886816\/openai-reached-a-new-agreement-with-the-pentagon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">deal with the Pentagon<\/a> in February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">While ChatGPT is still growing its user base, Sensor Tower says that growth is slowing down \u2014 ChatGPT increased its monthly active users by 168 percent in January, but only 78 percent in April. ChatGPT still has a \u201csubstantially larger user base\u201d than its rivals, but its growth is also falling behind Claude\u2019s. According to Sensor Tower, ChatGPT\u2019s downloads were up 14 percent year over year over the past few months while Claude saw an 11x increase during the same period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">ChatGPT is experiencing this slowdown right as OpenAI is eyeing an IPO, although CFO Sarah Friar has reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/919533\/openai-revenue-user-numbers-miss-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expressed concerns<\/a> about those plans.
