But it’s not just the vague notion of AI anymore. AI is growing so fast that there are now subcategories of the technology, which we’re beginning to understand and name differently.

Generative AI is one end of the spectrum, creating images and videos from text prompts. We also have AI-powered workflow tools and speedups, and we’re starting to see a rush of new agentic AI options offering AI assistance as creative agents.

That’s pretty much the best pitch for what was announced the other day: Anthropic shared that its Claude AI model is now set to connect with a wide range of creative apps, including Adobe’s Creative Cloud, and 3D tools like Blender and Autodesk.

Not to be outdone by just one partnership, though, Adobe has announced that its own agentic AI model, Firefly AI Assistant, is now available in public beta. Here’s what you need to know about this new era of creative agents.

Adobe Firefly AI Assistant Available in Public Beta

So, Firefly AI Assistant was actually announced by Adobe earlier this month, promising to usher in a new era of creative agent assistance,, allowing creatives to serve as a de facto creative director for their projects, with the grunt work eventually handled by these agents.

Adobe’s Firefly AI Assistant, when fully realized, aims to have all the combined powers of Adobe’s creative tools within its agentic grasp, enabling it to edit videos, enhance audio, reimagine stills, and create vector-based title cards, amongst other tasks.

And while this vision of the future might still be just that, for the time being, Adobe has announced that the Firefly AI Assistant is now ready to share in public beta and available in the company’s all-in-one creative studio, Firefly, starting today.

                The Future of Agentic AI

Now, as mentioned above, while all this agentic AI news has been coming hot and heavy over the past few days, it’s important to remind people (whether you’re into this stuff or not) that this technology is extremely new and raw.

If you’re trying out these agentic AI tools and agents today, they’re likely to be quite buggy and not work too well just yet. Adobe is promising a lot about what its Firefly AI Assistant will eventually be able to do with text-based prompts, tasking it with turning product shoots into full sets of social assets, building move boards from creative briefs, or refining sets of headshots.

Still, love it or hate it, it’s clear that this is the future and a direction that not just Adobe, but all AI models and adjacent platforms, are heading.

Credit: Adobe

                What Comes Next?

Real quick, along with news of the Firefly AI Assistant going to public beta, Adobe has also announced that it’s adding more features and capabilities to the Firefly app, including access to new AI models like OpenAI’s GPT Image 2, as well as adding new image editing capabilities like Precision Flow and AI Markup.

Overall, though, as far as the future is concerned, the question for many might seem like an if right now, but it’s likely just more of a when. If you think you’re interested in checking this out, or when you’re ready to find out more, you can head to Adobe’s website to explore Firefly AI Assistant yourself here.

From Your Site Articles

Related Articles Around the Web

[6
755,15169,15171,179,7493,3186,15170,3237
0":"post-21791","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-agentic-ai","8":"tag-adobe","9":"tag-adobe-firefly","10":"tag-adobe-firefly-ai-assistant","11":"tag-agentic-ai","12":"tag-agentic-artificial-intelligence","13":"tag-ai-assistant","14":"tag-ai-assistant-editor","15":"tag-ai-video
["GET
