Our growth in revenue, operating margin and backlog highlights this differentiation,\u201d Pichai said.<\/p>\n<p>CRN breaks down the biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/cloud\/2026\/most-popular-cloud-discounts-from-aws-azure-google-ibm-and-oracle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google Cloud growth numbers<\/a> from Google\u2019s first-quarter 2026 earnings results that every partner and customer needs to know about.<\/p>\n<p>        Gemini Enterprise 40 Percent Growth; 9X Increase With Partners<\/p>\n<p>Gemini Enterprise is Google\u2019s AI-powered platform and agentic system that lets customers build, deploy and manage AI agents and to automate complex workflows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGemini Enterprise is seeing tremendous momentum with 40 percent growth quarter over quarter in paid monthly active users,\u201d said Google\u2019s CEO. \u201cThat includes major global brands like Bosch, Citi Wealth, Merck and Mars Inc.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/cloud\/2026\/google-s-new-partner-leader-on-key-investments-microsoft-worry-and-enabling-partner-superpowers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google\u2019s partner ecosystem<\/a> plays an increasingly critical role in driving Gemini Enterprise adoption,\u201d Pichai said. \u201cWe saw 9X year-over-year growth, both in seats sold with partners and in the number of partners adopting it for internal use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>        800 Percent Sales Spike In Enterprise AI Solutions<\/p>\n<p>Google Cloud saw an 800 percent increase in enterprise AI solutions during first-quarter 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Google Cloud, we are providing enterprise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/ai\/2026\/google-cloud-to-invest-in-partner-expansion-globally-exclusive\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI solutions<\/a>, which this quarter had an 800 percent year-on-year increase,\u201d said Pichai.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we are seeing strong demand for Gemini Enterprise and our AI solutions there. We see strong demand for infrastructure in Google Cloud,\u201d he said. \u201cIn select cases, we are seeing demand for TPU hardware and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/cloud\/2026\/broadcom-signs-anthropic-google-tpu-groundbreaking-deals-to-drive-ai-capacity\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TPU hardware in others\u2019 data centers<\/a> as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said there\u2019s tremendous demand for AI solutions as well as AI infrastructure, \u201cincluding massive interest in our GPU offerings as well as TPUs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>        New Customer Acquisition Is \u2018Doubling;\u2019 Customers Outpacing Their Commitments By 45 Percent<\/p>\n<p>In terms of on-boarding new AI customers to Google Cloud, the company unveiled the pace of winning new customers doubled in first-quarter 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are winning new customers faster with new customer acquisition doubling compared to the same period last year,\u201d said Pichai.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Google is seeing stronger deal momentum, \u201cdoubling the number of $100 million to $1 billion deals year on year and signing multiple $1 billion-plus deals,\u201d Pichai said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we are deepening relationships with existing customers. Customers outpaced their initial commitments by 45 percent, accelerating over last quarter,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>        Google Cloud\u2019s Record $20 Billion Q1 And 203 Percent Operating Income Growth<\/p>\n<p>Google Cloud generated record revenue of $20.02 billion during first-quarter 2026, representing a 63 percent increase year over year.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s annual run rate now exceeds $80 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Operating income for Google Cloud surged, reaching nearly $6.6 billion in first-quarter 2026. This represents a 203 percent increase compared with $2.17 billion in first-quarter 2025.<\/p>\n<p>        \u2018Compute Constraint\u2019 Hindering Google Cloud Sales, CEO Says<\/p>\n<p>Google CEO said Google Cloud sales could have been higher if there were no computing constraints in the global market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, we are compute-constraint in the near term. As an example, our cloud revenue would have been higher if we were able to meet the demand,\u201d said Pichai.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we are working through that moment and we are investing. But we have a robust long-range planning framework and we see extraordinary opportunities ahead and we are allocating with that framework in mind,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>        Google Cloud\u2019s $462 Billion Backlog<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur backlog nearly doubled quarter on quarter to over $460 billion,\u201d said Pichai.<\/p>\n<p>As of March 31, 2026, Google had $467 billion of remaining performance obligations\u2014which is revenue backlog\u2014of which $462 billion was related to Google Cloud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRevenue backlog represents commitments in customer contracts that have not yet been recognized as revenue.
