Anthropic PBC<\/a> announced the launch of Claude Security in public beta mode\u00a0today\u00a0to help\u00a0cybersecurity\u00a0teams\u00a0scan their codebases for vulnerabilities and generate patches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Part of Claude Enterprise, the company\u2019s subscription model aimed at\u00a0large organizations,\u00a0Security began as a research preview as\u00a0Claude Code Security<\/a>\u00a0in February. Since its introduction, the company\u00a0said hundreds of organizations\u00a0have\u00a0used it to discover and fix exploits in production code, including vulnerabilities existing tools had missed for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new security tool is powered by the company\u2019s flagship artificial intelligence model,\u00a0Opus 4.7<\/a>, as a dedicated defensive product,\u00a0part of a\u00a0longer-term\u00a0trend for the company as a cybersecurity angle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anthropic recently launched\u00a0Project Glasswing<\/a>, debuting\u00a0the use of the company\u2019s\u00a0Mythos model<\/a>, which was not originally designed as a security model but has\u00a0proved particularly adept at discovering vulnerabilities.\u00a0Glasswing\u00a0brings together\u00a0numerous\u00a0technology partners\u00a0to secure the world\u2019s production software.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following\u00a0this initiative, the company said customers can now work with partners building on Claude\u2019s security capabilities. This\u00a0includes\u00a0Anthropic\u2019s\u00a0technology partners,\u00a0such as\u00a0CrowdStrike\u00a0Holdings Inc., Palo Alto Networks\u00a0Inc.,\u00a0SentinelOne\u00a0Inc.,\u00a0Trend Micro Inc.\u2019s\u00a0Trend.ai and Wiz\u00a0Inc., integrating Opus 4.7 into their cybersecurity platforms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anthropic said that with these new capabilities, Claude can now reason over entire codebases by thinking similarly to the way a cybersecurity researcher does. Instead of looking for known patterns, it traces data flows, reads source\u00a0code\u00a0and examines interactions between code components\u00a0and files\u00a0to synthesize\u00a0network effects.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The model then verifies everything with a confidence rating before it reaches an analyst so that it can provide more trustworthy outputs. Anthropic also said the model will do its homework as it goes, explaining its reasoning along the way, its confidence factors, the likelihood that a vulnerability can be exploited, the triage factors and how effective a fix will be.\u00a0<\/p>\n

From there, users can\u00a0open\u00a0a Claude Code session to apply the fix directly in context, with no more waiting days to go back and forth with security and engineering teams to get it tested and working.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anthropic said that after feedback from the research preview, the company added scheduled scans for ongoing coverage, the ability to dismiss findings with\u00a0documented reasons (essentially notes\u00a0for future reviewers to triage analysis), and comma-separated and Markdown exports for\u00a0easy import into existing audit systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n
