{"id":24072,"date":"2026-05-01T06:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T06:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/24072\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T06:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T06:51:14","slug":"google-meets-ai-note-taker-just-got-a-whole-lot-better-and-less-overwhelming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/24072\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Meet&#8217;s AI note-taker just got a whole lot better and less overwhelming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitaltrends.com\/computing\/how-to-use-google-meet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google Meet<\/a>\u2018s \u201cTake notes for me,\u201d which the company announced back in 2024, is already a lifesaver for anyone who has to juggle typing notes and actually participating in a meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the company has added numerous features to make its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitaltrends.com\/computing\/plaud-note-pro-the-notetaker-for-people-who-hate-to-take-notes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI meeting notetaker<\/a> service even better, including the ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitaltrends.com\/computing\/google-meet-will-soon-jot-down-notes-for-you-even-if-its-an-in-person-meeting\/\" data-popup-added=\"true\" style=\"cursor: pointer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">take in-person meeting notes<\/a>, create longer meeting notes, and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitaltrends.com\/topic\/google\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google<\/a> is making it even better with <a href=\"https:\/\/workspaceupdates.googleblog.com\/2026\/04\/new-ways-to-customize-ai-generated-meeting-notes.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">new customization options<\/a> that let you control exactly what shows up in your meeting notes.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s actually new?<\/p>\n<p>The biggest addition is the ability to toggle specific sections on or off during a meeting. You can now choose which of the four sections you want in your notes: Summary, Decisions, Next steps, and Details.\u00a0The changes only apply to your current meeting, so you don\u2019t have to worry about breaking your default settings for future calls.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new Decisions section is the standout feature for me. Instead of hunting through a wall of text to figure out what was actually agreed upon, this section explicitly captures outcomes and even tracks their status. The only caveat is that the Decisions section is currently available in English only.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2130\" height=\"1197\" data-wp-class--hide=\"state.isContentHidden\" data-wp-class--show=\"state.isContentVisible\" data-wp-init=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on-async--click=\"actions.showLightbox\" data-wp-on-async--load=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on-async-window--resize=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/google-meet-decisions.jpg\" alt=\"google meet decisions\" class=\"wp-image-5970120\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\t\tGoogle<\/p>\n<p>Google has also improved the Summary section to be more concise and scannable, making it easier to catch up on key points without reading through everything.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need to do anything to use it?<\/p>\n<p>Not really. If you already have access to \u201cTake notes for me,\u201d this update will add these features automatically.
