{"id":24650,"date":"2026-05-01T17:04:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T17:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/24650\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T17:04:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T17:04:10","slug":"tesla-brought-in-573-million-from-selling-to-xai-and-spacex-last-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/24650\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla brought in $573 million from selling to xAI and SpaceX last year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img alt=\"Elon Musk Tesla factory\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1242\" height=\"887\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1777655050_323_09994085b112c79b7bdbfa2d54b8a62b.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Tesla made over half a billion dollars supplying products to other Elon Musk companies.Visual China Group via Getty Images\/Visual China Group via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Tesla generated $573 million in revenue from selling cars and batteries to SpaceX and xAI last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Tesla also bought services from xAI and SpaceX, it disclosed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Musk&#8217;s firms have often blurred lines, sparking investor concerns about conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n<p>One Elon Musk company generated over half a billion dollars in revenue selling to two other <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/spacexs-ipo-could-be-a-real-problem-for-tesla-2026-4?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:companies in the Musk universe;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">companies in the Musk universe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla reported $573 million in revenue last year from <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/teslas-robotaxi-timeline-just-got-a-little-fuzzier-2026-4?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:selling cars and battery;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">selling cars and battery<\/a> systems to SpaceX and xAI, according to a regulatory filing uploaded on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla said it generated about $430 million in revenue last year by selling Megapack products \u2014 a lithium-ion battery system \u2014 to xAI, Musk&#8217;s artificial intelligence company, and the maker of Grok.<\/p>\n<p>It added that it made about $143 million in revenue, mostly from selling vehicles to SpaceX, the billionaire&#8217;s rocket company, last year.<\/p>\n<p>Some of that money was spent on Cybertrucks.<\/p>\n<p>SpaceX has replaced its fleet of support vehicles with the stainless-steel electric pickup, according to <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wmorrill3\/status\/1975568628776116512\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Tesla&#039;s Cybertruck lead;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">Tesla&#8217;s Cybertruck lead<\/a>. Musk&#8217;s rocket maker accounted for nearly a fifth of all Cybertruck purchases in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to data from S&amp;P Global Mobility reported by Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla did not disclose how much it made selling to SpaceX in the original version of its annual filing uploaded in January.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Besides buying cars and batteries from Tesla, Thursday&#8217;s filing disclosed several other ways <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/elon-musk-inc-company-connections-tesla-spacex-xai-boring-2026-2?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:the Musk companies overlapped;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">the Musk companies overlapped<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p>In the filing, Tesla said it invested $2 billion in SpaceX and xAI. It also disclosed that it paid the two companies for commercial and consulting services: $11.4 million to SpaceX and $4 million to xAI.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has blurred the lines between his companies for years.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/spacex-acquiring-xai-deal-elon-musk-2026-2?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:SpaceX acquired xAI;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">SpaceX acquired xAI<\/a>, further consolidating Musk&#8217;s companies. In the past, Tesla employees have been sent to overhaul coding at X, Musk&#8217;s social media company. XAI&#8217;s Grok has been integrated into Tesla cars and Optimus robots. Musk has also said that Tesla and SpaceX will collaborate on the Roadster car.<\/p>\n<p>This web of internal deals has fueled concerns among investors and analysts about <a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/tesla-shareholders-vote-elon-musk-investment-xai-2025-11?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:potential conflicts of interest;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">potential conflicts of interest<\/a>. Some are worried that Musk is diverting resources, talent, and AI innovation from the publicly traded Tesla to his private companies.
