After announcing it in March as a new feature planned for Xbox Series X|S in 2026, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eteknix.com\/phil-spencer-retires-as-microsoft-overhauls-xbox-leadership\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new CEO Asha Sharma<\/a> has now confirmed a clear change in direction for Xbox.<\/p>\n<p>In a message shared on social media, Sharma explained that Xbox needs to move faster, build a stronger connection with the community, and reduce problems for both players and developers. The AI assistant will slowly be <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/asha_shar\/status\/2051746410660593933\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">removed<\/a> from the mobile experience, and development for the Xbox console version has been stopped. For now, there are no more details about what will happen to Copilot in the wider Microsoft gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>This decision also comes with changes inside the Xbox leadership team.
