{"id":28989,"date":"2026-05-06T05:12:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T05:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/28989\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T05:12:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T05:12:06","slug":"meta-says-it-will-use-artificial-intelligence-to-enforce-age-restrictions-on-platforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/28989\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta says it will use artificial intelligence to enforce age restrictions on platforms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/meta-tells-court-facebook-instagram-may-shut-down-in-new-mexico-over-requested-safety-features-jury-verdict-raul-torrez\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/meta-tells-court-facebook-instagram-may-shut-down-in-new-mexico-over-requested-safety-features-jury-verdict-raul-torrez\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Meta said<\/a> Tuesday that artificial intelligence will be used to ensure users under the age of 13 won\u2019t be using the company\u2019s social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, we\u2019re sharing updates on the age assurance technology we use to help ensure teens are in the right experiences for their age,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2026\/05\/ai-age-assurance-teens\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2026\/05\/ai-age-assurance-teens\/\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Meta wrote in a blog post.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tech giant said it would be expanding protections for teenagers and ramping up ways to ensure those who misrepresent their age are off the platforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis includes a deeper look at our ongoing work to strengthen underage enforcement, including the addition of AI visual analysis and other advancements;
