These moves would enable the platform to offer higher usage limits for Claude Code and Claude API. The company has now introduced increased usage limits, effective immediately, aimed at improving the overall Claude experience.

Higher usage limits

Three major changes have been introduced. First, Anthropic has doubled Claude Code’s five-hour rate limits for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. Second, the company has removed peak-hour limit reductions for Claude Code users on Pro and Max plans. Third, API rate limits for Claude Opus models have been significantly increased.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS ADNew compute partnership with SpaceX

Beyond these updates, Anthropic has signed a new agreement with SpaceX to utilise compute capacity at its Colossus 1 data centre. This deal is expected to provide Anthropic with more than 300 megawatts of additional capacity within a month equivalent to roughly 220,000 Nvidia GPUs. This added capacity will help improve performance and availability for Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers.

Additional compute deals

Anthropic has also announced several other major infrastructure agreements:

An agreement with Amazon for up to 5 gigawatts of capacity, including nearly 1 GW expected by the end of 2026

A 5 GW deal with Google and Broadcom, set to begin coming online by 2027

A partnership with Microsoft and Nvidia involving $30 billion in Azure capacity

A $50 billion investment in US AI infrastructure with Fluidstack

The company noted that it has been testing AI hardware on Google TPUs and Nvidia GPUs, and continues to explore opportunities to bring more compute capacity online.

Anthropic also highlighted that enterprise customers in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, and government require in-region infrastructure to meet compliance and data residency needs. As a result, part of its expansion will focus on international capacity. The recently announced collaboration with Amazon will include additional inference capacity in Asia and Europe.

Additionally, the company has stated its commitment to covering any increase in consumer electricity prices in the US caused by its data centre operations.

First Published:
May 06, 2026, 23:24 IST

HomeTechAnthropic boosts claude usage limits while announcing spacex compute agreementEnd of Article

Anthropic has partnered with SpaceX and secured major compute deals to expand infrastructure capacity, enabling higher usage limits…

[8
53,3154,182
0":"post-29883","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-anthropic","8":"tag-anthropic","9":"tag-anthropic-claude","10":"tag-claude
["GET
