Alphabet Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/GOOG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">GOOG<\/a>, GOOGL)) Google is mulling that for its Gemini app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Philipp Schindler, chief business officer at Google didn\u2019t rule out allowing brands to run ads within the Gemini AI app when answering a question during Google&#8217;s fiscal Q1 <a href=\"https:\/\/abc.xyz\/investor\/events\/event-details\/2026\/2026-Q1-Earnings-Call-2026-nW8kCrBAKS\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">earnings conference call<\/a> on April 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">\u201cOur focus right now is on AI Mode, but it\u2019s fair to say that we really believe a format that works well in AI Mode would transfer successfully to [the] Gemini app,\u201d Schindler said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Don&#8217;t Miss:<\/p>\n<p>New Ad Formats With AI\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Google is currently testing a new ad format within AI Mode that displays retailers that sell the recommended products that appear during searches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">The format could eventually find its way to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/markets\/tech\/26\/04\/52123497\/gm-to-roll-out-google-gemini-ai-across-4-million-cars-heres-what-owners-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gemini<\/a> app, but right now Google is focused on the free and subscription tiers, Schindler said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">\u201cAds have always been a big part of scaling products to reach billions of people,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if done well, ads can be really valuable and really helpful commercial information. At the right moment, we\u2019ll share any plans as we have said. During a Jan. 21, World Economic Forum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=34WoOp1EEfo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">panel discussion<\/a> OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar\u00a0 said ads on ChatGPT would be done in a responsible way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Friar said ads wouldn&#8217;t alter search results, nor would conversations or data be shared or sold to third parties.
