Anthropic’s historic growth has been fueled by the popularity of its Claude AI models, and has seen a notable explosion since last year’s launch of Claude Code, which has taken the world of software development by storm. The company is currently in talks with investors about raising cash at a valuation of $900 billion, as CNBC previously reported, which would make it worth more than OpenAI. <\/p>\n
“Software engineers are the ones who are fastest to adopt new technology,” Amodei said on stage. “It’s a foreshadowing of how things are going to work across the economy, and how the economy is going to be transformed by AI.”<\/p>\n
Last month, Anthropic said demand for Claude has led to “inevitable strain on our infrastructure,” which has impacted “reliability and performance” for its users, particularly during peak hours. The company has inked several compute deals in recent weeks, including a\u00a0multibillion-dollar agreement<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0Amazon.<\/a><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Anthropic has been navigating a contentious relationship with the U.S. government and the Pentagon, which declared the company a supply chain risk in March, blacklisting it from work with the military.
