Blacktown City Council has tapped software development firm Enterprise AI for an AI-powered solution to tackle development application pressures.<\/p>\n
Named Development Application Information System, or DAISY, the Microsoft-based solution was introduced as a means to help the Council cut down on development application assessment timeframes and manage growing application volumes with limited resources.<\/p>\n
According to Enterprise AI, applicants found the development application process complex and unclear, which led to high enquiry and requests for information volumes.<\/p>\n
Complicating matters further was the fact that staff are required to respond to all enquiries by law, which created an even larger burden on employees.<\/p>\n
As such, the Council took on DAISY as an early adopter, with a hard launch in January this year. The system consists of DAISY Assist, to guide applicants with clear, site-specific planning guidance, and Daisy Assess, to support employees by automating high-volume tasks like application screening and generating draft assessment text.<\/p>\n
