It\u2019s also investigating charges of disseminating non-consensual images or other content and denial of crimes against humanity. <\/p>\n<p>X and its parent company SpaceX did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>The investigation comes less than three weeks after <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/france-x-investigation-elon-musk-summoned-fad2e1d2eab45b0b86d6cd70bbee6952\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Musk and Linda Yaccarino<\/a> \u2014 the former CEO of X \u2014 were summoned for \u201cvoluntary interviews\u201d to discuss the allegations. They did not show up, but French authorities said this wouldn\u2019t hinder the investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Musk was summoned after <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/france-x-investigation-seach-elon-musk-1116be84d84201011219086ecfd4e0bc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a search took place<\/a> in February at the French premises of X as part of an investigation opened in January 2025 by the cybercrime unit of the Paris prosecutor\u2019s office. Musk and Yaccarino have been invited in their capacities as managers of X at the time of the events investigated.
