SoftBank and OpenAI did not immediately respond to Reuters&#8217; requests for comment on the story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">A margin \u200bloan is \u200bwhen an investor borrows from \u200ba lender to invest \u200cin securities, using the purchased investments as collateral.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The two-year margin loan would carry an option for SoftBank to extend the tenure by an additional year, Bloomberg had earlier reported in April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">While discussions are ongoing, details such as \u200cthe eventual size of any \u200bborrowing could change, the report added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">SoftBank \u200bhas invested in \u200bOpenAI since September 2024.
