(NYSE: $EXOD) launched XO Cash on Friday, introducing a Solana (CRYPTO: $SOL) based stablecoin designed for AI agents that need to hold, spend and route payments without taking control of a user’s private keys.

The product is live through XOCash.com and was developed in partnership with MoonPay. Exodus said XO Cash comes with AgentKit, a software development kit that lets developers issue an agent its own wallet with a single API call. The wallet is funded through the user’s Exodus Pay balance, while the user keeps custody of the keys and sets the rules around how the agent can spend.

Those controls include daily limits, per-transaction caps, allowed merchants and rate limits that can be updated over time. The design reflects a broader payments question forming around AI commerce: if agents are going to search, compare, subscribe, purchase and renew services on behalf of users, they need payment rails that are programmable without giving software unchecked access to user funds.

More From Cryptoprowl:

“Agents need to spend, and they shouldn’t have to manage keys to do it,” Exodus CEO and co-founder JP Richardson said. “XO Cash sits on the same Exodus Pay rails our users already trust, and it lets a user hand an agent a wallet without handing over the keys.”

XO Cash also extends into card payments. Exodus said every agent wallet can issue its own debit card through the same infrastructure used by Exodus Pay with MoonPay and Monavate. That allows agents to transact at Visa (NYSE: $V) accepting merchants, with the same wallet-level spending rules applied automatically to card activity.

The launch arrives as agentic commerce becomes a more serious focus for payment companies, crypto developers and AI platforms. McKinsey has estimated that AI agents could mediate $3 trillion to $5 trillion in global consumer commerce by 2030, creating demand for new systems around authorization, identity, spending limits and settlement.

For Exodus, XO Cash adds a sharper stablecoin layer to its self-custody payments strategy as AI-driven commerce begins moving from concept to infrastructure

Exodus Movement Inc. (NYSE: EXOD) stock was trading at $7.8 U.S. per share.

Exodus Launches XO Cash Stablecoin for AI Agent Payments Exodus Movement, Inc.
