With the update, Amazon says you can give Alexa Plus a topic, and the AI assistant will offer an overview of what its AI hosts plan to talk about, allowing you to steer the conversation and adjust its length before it starts generating the episode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Some \u201cAlexa Podcast\u201d examples shared by Amazon have two AI-generated hosts talking about the history of the Roman Empire, new music, and expectations for the World Cup. Amazon says you can also ask Alexa Plus to generate audio lessons about the Apollo missions, or create a podcast episode about a new hobby, like photography. The feature is similar to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/9\/11\/24242138\/google-notebook-llm-ai-fake-podcasts-research\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI-generated podcasts you can create<\/a> using NotebookLM, a capability Microsoft Edge also snapped up in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/930188\/microsoft-edge-copilot-ai-tabs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a recent update<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Amazon says the AI-generated podcast episodes will draw information from the 200 news publications the company has partnered with, including Reuters, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, Vox, and Politico. Amazon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/873702\/amazon-alexa-plus-ai-assistant-now-available\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rolled out Alexa Plus<\/a> to all users in the US in February and has since embedded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/929457\/amazon-announces-alexa-for-shopping-ai-assistant-rufus\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">assistant into its online marketplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">You\u2019ll receive a notification on your Echo Show device and the Alexa app once the episode is finished.
