The test reportedly comes as part of efforts to make Microsoft 365 Copilot \u201crun autonomously around the clock\u201d while completing tasks on behalf of users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Omar Shahine, Microsoft\u2019s corporate vice president, confirmed to The Information that the company is \u201cexploring the potential of technologies like OpenClaw in an enterprise context.\u201d OpenClaw is an open-source platform that allows users to create AI-powered agents that run locally on a user\u2019s device. The platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/890517\/openclaw-clawcon-meetup-nyc-open-source-ai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rose in popularity<\/a> earlier this year, though it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/874011\/openclaw-ai-skill-clawhub-extensions-security-nightmare\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has since raised a number<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/881574\/cline-openclaw-prompt-injection-hack\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">serious security concerns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Sources tell The Information that Microsoft is confident that it can implement \u201csafer\u201d versions of the tool. The always-on version of Microsoft 365 Copilot could reportedly do things like monitor a user\u2019s Outlook inbox and calendar and serve up a list of suggested tasks each day. Microsoft is also exploring OpenClaw-like agents tailored to certain roles, such as marketing, sales, and accounting, to \u201climit the permissions the agent needs,\u201d siloing them from other parts of a business, according to The Information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">As noted by The Information, Microsoft aims to show off some of these features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/888004\/microsoft-build-2026-san-francisco-june\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">during its Build conference<\/a>, which kicks off on June 2nd.
