{"id":46950,"date":"2026-05-21T14:14:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T14:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/46950\/"},"modified":"2026-05-21T14:14:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T14:14:14","slug":"gsa-and-snowflake-strike-onegov-deal-for-ai-data-cloud-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/46950\/","title":{"rendered":"GSA and Snowflake strike OneGov deal for AI, data cloud products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Artificial intelligence and cloud-based data products through Snowflake will now be available to all federal agencies, the General Services Administration announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The GSA has struck a OneGov deal with the cloud-based data warehousing and analytics company in order to \u201cempower federal workers to break down data silos, enhance mission effectiveness, and accelerate their IT modernization initiatives,\u201d it said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal agencies are seeking efficiency in cost, enterprise scaled performance, intuitive design driven tools for the workforce and simplicity in contracting \u2014 we are the only multi-cloud data platform that can meet this charge on day one,\u201d Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Snowflake, the <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/SNOW\/key-statistics\/?guccounter=1&amp;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&amp;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAEe25N2_ezUc1zqDz3XjN0dro5eFHDiSJlep0saEYmbI9m28T3NTxXpnFeatff2cN4Y4PFtfJbGsZyP-cHDDTe2nrHt8kT_1xnL4di4Gxhf78NEnd1kSvYgss-Pn0pu8HC0u1dPcFbWWJ5pvj8s79cP7l9OwJOvWwggHUkhU5s7-\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nearly $58 billion<\/a> company, gained high-security certification for government use through the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedramp.gov\/marketplace\/products\/FR2308159208\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AWS GovCloud<\/a> in 2023 and for Microsoft Azure Government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedramp.gov\/marketplace\/products\/FR1809360202A\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last June<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just over a year old, <a href=\"https:\/\/fedscoop.com\/gsa-onegov-tech-buying-agency-it-leaders-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OneGov<\/a> is a government contracting framework allowing for cross-agency use of commercial products at a discounted price. For Snowflake users across the federal government, this means 20% off compute services, which could go up to 50% as usage increases, as well as nearly a 27% discount on storage, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>GSA Administrator Edward Forst said the administration has already seen \u201cpromising early projects\u201d from agencies using OneGov and its AI tools. Other AI tools from OpenAI, <a href=\"https:\/\/fedscoop.com\/anthropic-government-agencies-onegov-general-services-administration-artificial-intelligence\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthropic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fedscoop.com\/perplexity-fedramp-artificial-intellgence-government-fedramp-cloud-gsa-general-services-administration\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Perplexity<\/a> are already available to agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith stronger cross-agency data capabilities, we can accelerate AI tools tailored to each agency\u2019s mission,\u201d Forst said in the release.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, OneGov has saved the government $1.1 billion in its first year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa.gov\/about-gsa\/newsroom\/news-releases\/onegov-saves-taxpayers-11-billion-in-first-year-04292026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">another press release<\/a> from last month said.
