{"id":5187,"date":"2026-04-14T16:34:35","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T16:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/5187\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T16:34:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T16:34:35","slug":"jd-vance-defends-trump-posting-ai-image-of-him-as-jesus-likes-to-mix-it-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/5187\/","title":{"rendered":"JD Vance defends Trump posting AI image of him as Jesus: &#8216;Likes to mix it up&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON \u2014 Vice President JD Vance shrugged off claims Monday night that President Trump committed blasphemy by posting an artificial intelligence-powered image\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/us-news\/trump-refuses-to-apologize-to-pope-leo-xiv-over-iran-war-dispute-dismisses-backlash-against-since-deleted-jesus-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Truth Social depicting himself as Jesus Christ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Vance, 41, a Roman Catholic convert who is releasing a book about his faith journey in June, argued that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/us-news\/trump-posts-then-deletes-ai-image-of-himself-as-christ-like-figure-sparking-blasphemy-accusations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Trump<\/a>, 79, was merely trying to have fun on social media and took\u00a0it\u00a0down when people\u00a0got\u00a0offended.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the president was posting a joke,\u201d Vance told Fox News\u2019 \u201cSpecial Report\u201d host Bret Baier. \u201cOf course, he took it down because he recognized that a lot of people weren\u2019t understanding his \u2014 his humor in that case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JD Vance spoke to Fox News\u2019 Bret Baier about Trump\u2019s AI image depicting him as Jesus Christ. Fox News<\/p>\n<p>President Trump posted an AI image of himself depicting Jesus Christ while healing a sick man. via REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the\u00a0president\u00a0of the United States likes to mix it up on social media,\u201d the veep added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump claimed Monday afternoon to have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/us-news\/trump-reveals-why-he-deleted-jesus-like-ai-post-and-takes-shot-at-conservative-activist-riley-gaines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">posted the image<\/a>\u00a0because he \u201cthought it was me as a doctor and it had to do with the Red Cross.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shocking post showed Trump clad in a white robe and red sash with bright balls of energy emanating from his hands as he tended to a sick man. The AI image also showed an American flag and\u00a0a bald eagle in the background, along with a\u00a0winged, horned creature that could not be identified.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A cacophony of evangelical and Christian conservatives accused the president of blasphemy. But Trump denied seeing\u00a0the\u00a0resemblance between himself in that image and Jesus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vice President JD Vance discussed the controversial AI image Trump shared to his social media before deleting it. Fox News<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually think that\u2019s one of the good things about this\u00a0president is that\u00a0he is not filtered,\u201d Vance contended. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t send everything through a communications professional.\u00a0 He actually reaches out directly to the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump,\u00a0who is famous for his penchant for\u00a0posting videos and memes on his Truth Social account, also took swipes at Pope Leo\u00a0XIV, bashing the religious leader for being \u201csoft on crime\u201d and weak on foreign policy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Holy Father had criticized Trump\u2019s war on Iran, drawing a fiery Truth Social diatribe from the US president.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>JD Vance said the administration had a \u201cgood relationship with the Vatican.\u201d Fox News<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a good thing, actually,\u00a0that the\u00a0pope\u00a0is advocating for the\u00a0things that\u00a0he cares about,\u201d Vance said of the row. \u201cSometimes we\u2019re going to have disagreements on matters of public policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can respect the\u00a0pope.\u00a0\u00a0We\u00a0certainly have a good relationship with the Vatican,\u201d the veep added. \u201cBut we\u2019re also going to disagree on substantive questions from time to time. I think that\u2019s a totally reasonable thing.
