Microsoft shares<\/a> were up nearly 3% in Monday morning\u2019s trade.<\/p>\n AI In Windows After MSFT-NVDA Partnership<\/p>\n Reports of Microsoft working to bake AI into Windows come after the company teamed up with Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) on a new superchip purpose-built to run personal agents on laptops and desktop computers.<\/p>\n The report said Microsoft is expected to detail how Windows is being optimized for new AI-focused hardware, such as Nvidia’s RTX Spark and how developers will be able to access local AI models running directly on devices instead of relying solely on cloud-based services.<\/p>\n The company is also expected to provide details on integrating local AI models into Windows at its developer conference. This will allow developers to switch to local models and compute capacities instead of tapping into cloud-based models.<\/p>\n Apple Inc. (AAPL) already supports on-device AI workloads through its unified memory architecture, which allows CPUs and GPUs to access a shared memory pool.<\/p>\n Microsoft is also expected to announce its first reasoning model, with the primary focus being on enterprise use, according to the report.<\/p>\n This comes as Microsoft increasingly pursues a multi-model AI strategy, expanding support beyond OpenAI to include offerings from Anthropic and other AI developers.<\/p>\n MSFT Unveils NVDA RTX Spark Powered Laptops<\/p>\n Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra on Sunday, its first laptop featuring an Nvidia Blackwell RTX GPU, up to 128GB of unified memory and full CUDA support for AI, 3D rendering and other compute-intensive workloads.<\/p>\n Nvidia’s RTX Spark combines a Blackwell Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) with a Grace Central Processing Unit (CPU) in a single AI-focused system-on-chip designed for local AI workloads. The company stated that RTX Spark-powered laptops promise all-day battery life and premium displays.<\/p>\n \u201cRTX Spark brings everything NVIDIA has built \u2014 CUDA, RTX, our AI platform \u2014 into a single superchip.
