Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to outline the technologies the company plans to bring to market as it competes with rivals such as OpenAI.

The laptops expected to be unveiled today are likely to feature tools such as OpenClaw, an open-source software project that can direct groups of AI agents to carry out everyday tasks for users. Analysts expect Microsoft to focus on making such agentic AI tools safer for businesses and the more than one billion users of its Windows operating system.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Analysts also expect more details on how Microsoft will allow developers to tap into a new chip from NVIDIA that was unveiled on Monday. These chips are expected to power laptops priced to compete with Apple’s premium offerings. The prospect of such machines has already helped boost the shares of Microsoft and major PC makers such as Dell Technologies.

Beyond hardware, Microsoft is also expected to provide updates on its own AI models, which it hopes will help it compete in areas such as code generation against tools like OpenAI’s Codex and Anthropic’s Claude Code.

Watch the Microsoft Build Keynote

The Microsoft Build livestream will kick off with a keynote from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. ET (9:30 a.m. PT).
