The growth pace surpassed that of major consumer platforms such as Google Maps, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, making ChatGPT the quickest app to achieve the milestone.<\/p>\n<p>The growing competition from Anthropic\u2019s <a id=\"24267818\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"Claude-chatbot\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseai.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/claude+chatbot\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Claude chatbot<\/a>. Sensor Tower found that US-based ChatGPT users who installed the Claude app during the first quarter of 2026 spent about 5 per cent less time on ChatGPT one month after downloading Claude, compared with their average usage over the previous eight months.<\/p>\n<p>Anthropic has been rapidly expanding its presence in the AI market. The company recently filed confidentially for a US initial public offering (IPO), while Reuters previously reported that OpenAI is also preparing to file for an IPO in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Despite ChatGPT\u2019s dominant scale, Anthropic is recording significantly faster growth. Sensor Tower estimates that Claude had 56 million global monthly active users in the second quarter of 2026 so far.
