Goldman Sachs\u2018 CEO, David Solomon, has stated that investors are now in \u201cgreed mode\u201d, as markets prepare for a significant fundraising wave from large artificial intelligence firms.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Solomon told\u00a0CNBC\u00a0that there is sufficient capital for\u00a0the upcoming initial public offerings\u00a0(IPOs) of\u00a0OpenAI,\u00a0Anthropic, and\u00a0SpaceX. \u201cThere\u2019s\u00a0plenty of liquidity in the\u00a0system if the world continues\u00a0to remain as optimistic,\u201d Solomon said. \u201cWe\u00a0are definitely in a moment\u00a0where there\u2019s\u00a0more greed than there is\u00a0fear.\u201d<\/p>\n
The remarks come as investors prepare for a surge in high-profile equity offerings, marking one of the busiest issuance periods in years. Solomon, whose bank, Goldman Sachs, is involved in several of these deals, brushed aside concerns about the market\u2019s capacity to absorb the influx of supply.<\/p>\n

He cited Alphabet\u2018s strong stock performance after announcing an $80 billion equity raise as a sign that investor appetite for AI remains robust. \u201cThe stock is trading very well,\u201d Solomon said. \u201cThis\u00a0is the first actual concrete\u00a0data point for bringing something\u00a0of this scale, and it\u2019s encouraging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Driven by strong AI-fueled earnings growth, Goldman Sachs raised its year-end S&P 500 target to 8,000 from 7,600, implying about 6% upside. The bank also boosted its earnings forecasts, projecting S&P 500 EPS of $340 in 2026 and $385 in 2027 following an exceptionally strong first-quarter earnings season. According to Goldman, Nvidia Corp. and Micron Technology Inc. are expected to drive about one-third of the S&P 500\u2019s earnings-per-share growth this year.<\/p>\n
