OpenAI plans to roll out a revamped version of ChatGPT in the coming weeks \u2014 one that will serve as a \u201csuper app\u201d with coding tools and AI agents, according to the Financial Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s goal is reportedly to become more competitive with Anthropic, particularly among business customers, and to get closer to profitability before an IPO. That means turning ChatGPT into a gateway leading free users to products they might actually pay for, such as coding product Codex. In fact, the FT quotes one senior OpenAI employee as declaring, \u201cChat is dead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thibault Sottiaux, who leads OpenAI\u2019s core product and platform, said the company is working towards a product \u201cwhere you have your own personal agent that is capable of helping you \u2026 across everything in your life, be it personally or at work.\u201d<\/p>\n

If this sounds familiar, it\u2019s because there have been reports about OpenAI\u2019s super app ambitions <\/a>since last year.<\/p>\n
