Google is expanding access to AI subscriptions by launching a budget pricing campaign that\u2019s rolling out in emerging markets and directly affecting American users.<\/p>\n
Google AI Plus now costs $4.99 per month, reducing the previous price from $7.99 while increasing the storage allowance to 400 GB (up from 200 GB).<\/p>\n
Vikas Kansal, head of Gemini AI subscriptions, said on X that the storage updates will be available to users within a few days.<\/p>\n
The January launch made Google AI Plus the cheapest paid AI subscription in the US, targeting individual users and students, not the corporate segment. The package includes tools for video generation with Omni Flash, the Google Flow creative studio, and NotebookLM, as well as options for more active users \u2013 AI Pro and AI Ultra.<\/p>\n

These steps highlight the growing role of AI accessibility as a key driver of user growth and margin pressure for AI providers.
