{"id":69857,"date":"2026-06-11T04:31:31","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T04:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/69857\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T04:31:31","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T04:31:31","slug":"jury-finds-woman-guilty-in-protest-that-blocked-access-to-openai-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/69857\/","title":{"rendered":"Jury finds woman guilty in protest that blocked access to OpenAI headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A San Francisco Superior Court jury has convicted a woman who prosecutors said helped chain shut the entrance to OpenAI\u2019s headquarters during a protest last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wynd Sethe Kaufmyn, 68, was found guilty after a trial of interfering with a business, trespassing with the intent to interfere with a business, unlawful assembly, and refusing to disperse during a riot, the San Francisco District Attorney\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case stemmed from a Feb. 22, 2025, protest by members of the group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stopai.info\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.stopai.info\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">STOP AI<\/a> outside OpenAI\u2019s offices on Third Street in San Francisco. According to trial evidence, protesters placed a chain across the building\u2019s front door and secured it with a padlock before sitting in front of the entrance. (Stop AI\/YouTube)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutors said officers told the demonstrators they were on private property and could continue protesting if they moved a short distance to the public sidewalk. The protesters, including Kaufmyn, refused to move and were cited.
