{"id":69880,"date":"2026-06-11T05:09:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T05:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/69880\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T05:09:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T05:09:11","slug":"teenagers-in-tokyo-allegedly-used-chatgpt-to-decide-extortion-amount-in-assault-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/69880\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenagers in Tokyo allegedly used ChatGPT to decide extortion amount in assault case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of high school students in Tokyo arrested over allegedly assaulting a boy and trying to extort money from him may have used ChatGPT to decide how much to demand, media reports have recently revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Five teenagers, including a 17-year-old girl and four boys ranging in age from 16 to 17, were arrested in January over the alleged assault and attempted extortion of a 17-year-old high school student in the city of Hachioji in western Tokyo, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the suspects assaulted the boy in a plaza in Hachioji\u2019s Shiroyamate district, breaking his nose and causing other injuries, before allegedly trying to extort \u00a5150,000 ($935) from him.<\/p>\n<p>The girl, who was the victim\u2019s ex-girlfriend, allegedly first confronted him, accusing him of touching her younger sister\u2019s leg. She then challenged him, saying, \u201cGive me the money or fight me one-on-one,\u201d according to reports by Fuji TV.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators believe an acquaintance of the girl consulted ChatGPT about \u201csexual abuse against a child\u201d and received a response suggesting that the minimum settlement amount would be \u00a5150,000.
