Adjusting your Google TV settings<\/a> is one of those things that sounds simple until you are three menus deep trying to find the brightness slider. Google<\/a> just made that whole experience a lot less annoying.<\/p>\n

The company has rolled out<\/a> new controls for Gemini<\/a>, and TCL<\/a> is the exclusive launch partner, meaning TCL TV owners get access to the feature for the first 60 days before it opens up to other Google TV brands<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What can the new Gemini TV controls actually do for you?<\/p>\n

Instead of digging through settings menus, you can talk to your TV. You can ask Gemini<\/a> to adjust brightness, contrast, volume, and picture modes using your voice. If something looks or sounds off, you can describe the problem in plain language.<\/p>\n

Saying something like \u201cthe screen is too dark\u201d or \u201cI can\u2019t hear the dialogue\u201d will prompt Gemini to fix it for you directly. You can also ask Gemini to fine-tune settings<\/a> based on what you are watching, or jump straight into the settings menu without clicking through multiple screens to get there. It is the kind of feature that sounds small but saves you time every single time you use it.<\/p>\n

Which TCL TVs are getting this update?<\/p>\n

The rollout is live now across select 2025 and 2026 TCL Google TV models in the US. The compatible models are the QM9K<\/a>, QM7L, RM7L, X11L, QM9L, QM8L, and RM9L. It is unclear at this stage whether older TCL models like the QM6K, QM7K, or QM8K will receive the update later.<\/p>\n

The timing is worth noting, too. With the FIFA World Cup kicking off this summer, having quick voice control over your picture and sound settings before a big match is a useful addition.
